On December 1, project team members from the Albany Area and Georgia/ Florida Area of the Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program met at the Jones Center at Ichauway to share methodologies, lessons learned, and successes from their respective projects.
USDA to Gather Data on Feral Swine Damage to Livestock Operations
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is conducting a Feral Swine Livestock Damage survey to measure the costs of feral swine damage to livestock operations. The survey is conducted in cooperation with the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) - Wildlife Services. Operators who have received this survey should complete it by August 18.

Feral Swine Partners Begin To Improve Georgia’s Natural Resources
The Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program (FSCP) is being implemented in Georgia through a collaboration with the Feral Swine Partnership, and will help USDA agencies such as the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) respond to the threats that feral swine pose to agriculture, native ecosystems, as well as human and animal health.
