Feral Swine Coordinator

The Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District is hiring a Feral Swine Coordinator!

This is a 1099 contract position, offering flexible deliverables-based work hours anticipated to total 40 hours per week. 1099 positions do not offer benefits. Pay for this position is negotiated hourly or at a flat bi-weekly rate, commiserate with experience. This position will last through September 30, 2024 with the opportunity for a contract extension upon conclusion of the contract. The District’s central office is located in Camilla and the pilot project takes place in Calhoun County, but offers flexible work space. This position encompasses both office and field work with partners. Some travel within the District may be required, with approved mileage reimbursement at the federal reimbursement rate. This position offers hands-on opportunities in wildlife biology outreach, education, project management experience, and partner collaboration.

Deliverables to be accomplished by the Feral Swine Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:

  •  Assist with outreach and educational efforts, including digital outreach, landowner and project participant engagement, and other opportunities as they arise;

  • Development and implementation of trap leasing program;

  •  Support in the planning and coordination of outreach events;

  • Track and organize project expenses and activities in project management system;

  • Direct support on-the-ground in project area;

  • Other miscellaneous tasks related to the project deliverables, as requested.
